Sponsor Spotlight: University of Houston Green Building Components


The University of Houston Green Building Components (UHGBC) applied research program is one of Houston Startup Weekend’s sponsors. UHGBC designs, develops, and implements sustainable and renewable green building components and systems across the architecture, engineering, and construction industries.

On Thursday, UHGBC will host its 3rd Annual Expo of sustainable design and technology for the built environment showcasing work by UH faculty and students in partnership with industry. The evening reception will include keynote remarks by Jim Blackburn of Blackburn & Carter, along with refreshments and light fare. Come to the event to see new projects ranging from botanical indoor air purification systems to modular green classrooms, as well as past projects that are now commercialized. This year’s featured projects include:

The Exhibition will be on display through February, 2012 if you are not able to attend this free event in person on the 17th.
